Clear Channel trial postponed until October 2006
The trial between Clear Channel and the City of Portland, that may determine the outcome of Portland's year-old Public Art Murals Program has been delayed until October 2, 2006. In December, muralist Joe Cotter was granted the right to intervene as a "non-aligned" third party and Cotter will bring art-experts and other witnesses into the courtroom this fall.
Meanwhile, artists vow to continue painting walls this summer!!
Projects approved this year by the Regional Arts & Culture Council's Public Art Advisory Committee include two bicycle-related murals (one for a wall at the Community Cycling Center and the other a bike-friendly "Share the Road" mural for The Hawthorne Auto Clinic! Thanks Jim & Liz!).
Several other community mural projects are planned, as well.
